A retired educator and “newby author” of two children’s books and a personal memoir detailing the author’s journey of loss, hope and grief following the tragic unexpected death of her fifteen year old grandson. Currently putting the finishing touches on a children’s book dealing with loss and grief entitled “My goldfish died and I am so sad!” An adult book addressing grief entitled “My heart is broken. A journey of loss, grief and hope.” will be available in spring 2017. An Iowan native who has written and published several pieces which will be a part of “Growing up in Iowa Series.”
An avid supporter of rights and opportunities for all children, men and women Active as a CASA [Court Appointed Special Advocate for children ], a relief manager at the Ronald McDonald House, a reading mentor with the Drake University Adult Reading Program and a volunteer at the Women’s Prison at Mitchellville, IA.
Founder and Director of the Levi Knock “pay it forward” Foundation, a 501 c non-profit that provides scholarships [not to exceed $250] in the Arts and Sciences.
Enjoys writing prose and poetry, playing dulicate bridge and tennis and flower gardening.
